In an interview of some of the sharks, Radhika Gupta commented that when Mr. Ronnie Screwvala walked up into the set, the aura of the set changed, including all other sharks. This is the power of his executive presence.
As I reflected on it, I figured some things in life only come with time and experience.
Ronnie is 68 years old. The way he spoke to entrepreneurs, even while giving them a no, was dignified and respectful. The way words came out of his mouth, it was a pleasant experience listening to them.
And I believe in most cases, this comes only with time and experience.
The way Ritesh Agarwal is composed. The way Anupam Mittal has deep understanding of business. The way Vineeta makes her decisions based on convictions. The swiftness with which Namita makes her decisions. And of course, the depth with which Ronnie spoke to founders.
It takes time to get to a place where what you say has weight. It comes with focus, dedication, hard work, and believing in yourself even when sometimes you are the only person believing in yourself.
The results come quicker than you think, bigger than you expected, at a time you hadn’t anticipated.
Over time, everything turns out well.
