It’s a Sunday morning. I am celebrating Republic Day in our spiritual class. My wonderful landlady shares her son’s number with me. Bhaiya and his family live in the US, and wants to speak to me regarding some project, or some random help.
I’d love to help.
Just that, I request my landlady if I could speak to him on Monday EOD.
Sundays are for doing nothing, and Monday mornings are for full-blown execution.
I felt nice when I said that no.
Because if you keep allowing people for that one more phone call, one more meeting, one more conversation, all of a sudden, you become suddenly lesser.
Draw walls around yourself that no one other than the top 2-3 people can access.
For everyone else, life can wait. Trust me, they love and respect you even more when you show up for yourself with love and respect.
