A client of mine has a unique GST payment policy. For every payment of invoice exceeding ₹25,000, they withhold the GST of the issuer of the invoice.
Reason being, sometimes some of the people they work with have not filed the GST return on time, and it has cost the client company money as well as efforts.
The good thing is they do not withhold GST for me, because I (aka my CA) always files my GST returns on time. No matter what. Thus, I get paid my GST along with my invoice. As it should be.
It turns out, when you do things on time, you get paid on time. Helps everyone.
Just do what you are supposed to do, even when you don’t feel like doing it. Whether it is GST returns or anything else. Life would be so much better.
