I am there

I am often reminded of a conversation with my former boss Ankur, that happened in June 2022.
I had set up a call with him, stating the reason as “being very frustrated” with work.

When we hopped onto the call, I was almost numb.
Wanted to speak, but was on the borderline of crying.

At that moment, Ankur said: “It’s okay. I am there.”

He didn’t know how much those words meant to me, back then.
And for a long time after that.
Even till today.

He just offered to listen.
Hear me speak out all my pain.
And finally offer a solution once I was done with sharing what I had to share.

It turns out, you don’t need to do much in order to make others feel better.
Just being there, is enough.

Just being there, is enough.
