I follow an independent woman’s content closely, to know her so well from a distance that she gave up everything for her family and her husband; and also gave up her dreams to help her husband in his startup.
After more than two decades, the company is doing well, however, that woman is nothing but broken.
She appears sorted, trips often, but in the work she puts out, she is broken. She has regrets. She so wants to do something for herself.
I even came across a post of their company where the husband is the face of the brand, just like every other event.
While I am glad she is taking steps and doing something for herself, 99% of her life is still frustration and anger.
Which is what the lesson for you and me is.
Be there for others, but be there for others after being there for yourself. Nothing flows out of an empty cup. Oh, yes, frustration does flow out of an empty cup.
