I live in a one-room apartment. Not 1 BHK. Rather one room apartment.
It is my meditation room, study room, bedroom, living room and dining room — all in one place.
But do you know what is the best part?
I have been living in this place since the time I used to make only Rs. 55K per month.
God has been kind to me over the years in terms of income, however, I still choose to live in the same place.
Here’s why:
- It’s located in a posh area. Like the most posh area of Noida. Every home has a luxury car. My landlord also has a C Class. Being surrounded by such people helps you think big, and not create stress over things like water bill or electrician bill or
- My landlords are wonderful wonderful people. You tell them one thing that is not working in your place and they will get it fixed immediately. For someone like me who procrastinates on these essentials, my landlords are a blessing. PS: They are good people even outside of overseeing general repairs. Like gems.
- The house is BIG. Every night after dinner, I jump from my balcony to uncle aunty’s terrace, and get 3-4K steps done. If this isn’t a blessing, what is?
- Not only this, on the same terrace, there is a single seater swing, where I often rest after my walks, soaking in the moonlight. I am alone yet in a safe place, under the moon. Talk heaven.
- I can give all my keys to my landlords while going to my parents’ home and my car and home are safe. There is no price tag you could put to this.
In life, the biggest luxury is not always getting bigger.
In life, the biggest luxury is knowing when you have just the right thing, and then stopping to explore around.
