When you connect with someone for a potential work assignment and they have a shady profile picture, especially on WhatsApp, it is usually wiser to not work with them.
The best people I work with have a picture that looks real. Not too much fluff, not too weird, just right. You can sense authenticity out loud.
This does not mean everyone should get their pictures clicked from a professional photographer. Some people have a nice quote and that is fine too.
Don’t spend a lot of time editing your work profile picture. It is usually a sign of being self-centered.
Spend a few minutes looking into your gallery where you look most real, and that will instil more trust than you think.
