Controlling your emotions does not mean you will never feel angry or upset or frustrated again (over time, it is possible, though).
Controlling your emotions means when the unpleasant emotions do show up, how you handle them in the moment, how you vent them out eventually (sports, journalling, running, writing, painting, etc.) and how they do not overpower you.
When you understand what pushes your buttons and you send that energy pushing your buttons to creative pursuits, the things that push your buttons eventually disappear.
