How to differentiate an artist from a worker

I do not have anything against workers. People who do their job. After all, they are the ones who run the economy.

However, artists are a different breed.

They not only run the economy.
They create their economy.

They not only do as instructed.
They bring themselves in everything they do.

They do not copy paste something because they are asked to do it and it is allowed.
They copy the idea and the art but make sure it is originally copied and not blindly copied.

They do not wait to be applauded.
They do their work, do it very well, and that self appreciation is an applaud.

Their presence is hardly noticed.
But their absence takes away the soul of the place they were not acknowledged in their presence.

They do not have very many friends.
But they do not need them as well, as an artist prefers real people.

They do not want to prove anything to the world.
Because the only thing that matters is what they do, when they are alone.

Every single one of us has it in ourselves to be an artist. Only if we choose to spend less time with workers. Which in itself is a form of an ode to our art.
