At the airport with a flight costing Rs. 240

Been a long time I have sat at the airport and chilled around.

Heck, been a long time I have sat at the airport in the first place.

Here are some sights from the waiting lounge:

  • A relatively old uncle, perhaps in his late 50s who seems to be a frequent traveller is apparently bored. Scrolling mobile.
  • A very rich family with the couple and perhaps an 8 year old daughter and 2.5 year old son (look at my accuracy of prediction lol) – all dressed up in international brands – seem to be going for a vacation, but lack of happiness is apparent.
  • A cool gang of friend with apparently in the age range of mid twenties is going to Goa. I asked a girl in the gang who was sitting alone while the other men simply spoke with each other. Upon my asking, she said other girls have gone to the washroom. Girls not going to washroom together is a broken group or a miniature group within a big group. Sad. The last thing we should ever do at least in a group setting is form smaller groups. True inclusivity is making everyone feel included.
  • Two guys apparently in late 20s/early 30s sipping their expensive drinks in their plastic glasses (look at my levels of judgement) but I guess they make good money and are hardworking. The faces say it all.
  • Two girlfriends talking to each other again sipping in plastic classes (are they spouses of the guys I mentioned in the previous point?). They are sitting on another rows of chairs, but together, like these two guys.
  • A honeymoon couple. A couple with an 18-20 year old daughter. A gang of newly married girls (or perhaps in the last 3-4 years) going on their all-girls trip.
  • Some happy faces on video calls. Some sad faces on the phones. Some enterprising faces on the screen like yours truly.

Airports have a story to tell. Relatively relaxed ones, though, on Sundays.

Oh btw, I booked my flight instantly and it cost a lot. But I also had an airline voucher that was about to expire. I only had to pay a sum of Rs. 240 over and above the sum of voucher. Not bad. Not bad at all! I’m rather grateful 🙂

Edit: ALL of the characters in my story have now vanished, since the last and final call for Goa passengers came :))
