The evil and the good

The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interrèd with their bones.

Said Mark Antony in the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, addressing the crowd after the death of his friend Julius Caesar.

As I reflected on it, think of something bad someone did to you. So much so, that it hurt you and pierced you forever and ever, and maybe continues to do so. The relationship might be over, but the hurts still keep your wound warm.

Now think of the good they did. And let me tell you, you remember their evil only because they were good with you at one point of time. Otherwise, you would have just moved on.

The good was so good and so much, but still your mind moved on from it.

Leaving with the remnants of pain and you making it the identity of that relationship, is sometimes brutal to not only that person and the wonderful relationship you shared, but also to yourself.

Let the good of the people live even after the relationship is buried, because you don’t deserve to live with memories of a wonderful past with a dead analogy.
