My Mom has gone for a cousin’s wedding, and when I ask her how things are and if she is enjoying, she says “Oh, they are wonderful,” and then with a lot of pain for me, she adds, “You missed so much fun.”
But I didn’t.
I wanted to work and that’s what I am doing, Mamma 🙂
Truth be told, the reason I asked her about the wedding doings was only because I wanted her to share her part of joy, not to feel some FOMO on 🙂
Plus, I have a life and choices of my own, and I will choose where and with whom to spend my time with, even if it irks you at the moment. Or maybe forever.
Love your parents. Get out of way to do things for them. But more often than not, don’t take them too seriously 🙂 They often speak out of their biases and stained glass windows, and you ought to have sympathy for them instead of anger.
While you enjoy for them in the process.
