9 weird, almost bizarre things people do to sound cool, but they should stop immediately:
1. Working every single day.
This does not mean you love your work so much. It only means you lack time management.
2. Being available on devices always.
There needs to be a limit on your availability in your waking hours, which you must constantly develop.
3. Skipping meals.
A car needs fuel. So does your body. Cool people don’t skip their meals.
4. Sleeping only 4 hours a day.
I was one of them. But it soon catches up on your productivity, skin and happiness. A good sleep isn’t a luxury, it is a necessity.
5. Only thinking about work.
Your life cannot only be work. You must make time for hobbies (that you do not plan to monetise lol).
6. Criticising others. The other person is working so hard to eliminate their weaknesses. Makes little sense for you to ruminate on it.
7. Starting the day with social media.
I know it is tempting. But trust me, the days I stop that urge and work for the first 60-90 minutes distraction free, I rock!
8. Saying yes to every request. If you don’t respect your time, no one else will. Gratitude + polite no + reason = Works wonders
9. Blaming your traumas.
Each one of us has been through small or big traumas.
And I understand they live in our bodies as much as they do in our minds.
But if we don’t actively work on eliminating what isn’t serving us, how will we ever work on welcoming what does serve us?
A lot of the constructs we have adopted are unseen walls, just to help ourselves feel important and loved.
Here is an alternative:
Work on making yourself feel important and loved.
Not the “take yourself to a salon date” thing once a bluemoon, rather the real things that show you care for yourself, every single day.
Some ways:
- Journalling
- Dancing to your favourite song
- Witnessing sunrise and strolling under the moon light every day
The things we do are the values we become.
You want to become more evolved, not more enveloped. Isn’t it?
