A former colleague was also a dear friend.
Everyone in the team knew we were each other’s biggest supporters.
We would defend each other in the other’s absence. Without speaking about it 🙂
Over time, we drifted apart.
It was a difficult thing for me.
But wisdom says some relationships are short-lived.
You cannot force people to be tied to you.
The way, then, isn’t to bear it in your heart against them.
I eventually told myself, “We were one of the closest friends ever. The top 5 of my life for sure. Can’t you forgive such a close friend of yours, (who understood your work and life) even if they didn’t ask for any apology?”
Today, maybe you should also forgive that friend and colleague.
For the friendship that was. And forever will be. In each of your hearts.
