When I was a kid, we used to have our cable operator air songs on the TV.
There was no way to stream. The only free will was the cassettes we had at home.
Anyhow, one of the songs our cable TV operator used to air was “Kya hua, tera vaada…”
Airing everyday around 4 pm, so often that I memorised the lyrics back then.
The song is also a beautiful one. Classic for all ages.
Here is the best part: I was not going through a traumatic friendship experience back then. I have never been through the emotion of betrayal in friendship—that the song stands for.
However, the song still strikes a chord.
You know why? Because it is art in its purest form.
Pure art transcends emotions, target audience, and even generations.
Which is why a book that no one has mentioned struck a chord with you. Or why we all remember Virat Kohli’s T20 innings against Pakistan in October 2022. Or why we all remember our nice managers even though we have moved on from those jobs.
Goodness is formless. Goodness is magic. Goodness is art.
I truly hope you get to create your goodness every day. Whether it is a “mundane” job or it is a masterpiece like a book.
Anything else is a betrayal to yourself.
