This morning at 7 am, three of the Didi’s at the spiritual class and I, hurried up in my car and drove to a high street society near our place.
We were invited by a family that lives in that society and follows spiritual practices of Brahma Kumaris.
The intent was to celebrate rakshabandhan program, where the Didi from our center would tie rakhi to security guards in the society.
When we reached, it was all good. A 29 degree morning. A beautiful outdoor area in a wonderful society. And so many outdoor sports facilities! Tennis, cricket, basketball, swimming, and of course a running track around all of these.
Once we got settled and realised we were more sewadharis than required, I requested the family that lived there, if they had a basketball. Yes, my friend.
So for the entire time, I practised some free throws alone. (With the 17-year-old son of our acquaintance family helping me with passing the ball.) While wearing a suit with dupatta. And crocs. Why? Because you can just do things. You do not need anyone’s permission to do anything, because people under the spell of status quo would rather die than move and do some free throws.
If you want to do any sort of physical activity or sports, you certainly need not wait for anyone to give you a heads up.
I have never felt this happy in a long long time. My sore shoulders after the session validated that. But that only means I need to stretch more, not reduce my free throws, baby.
