A friend of mine recently quit his job.
He got an offer letter with 100% hike with a competitor.
When his existing employer got to know of that, they gave a counter offer with a similar CTC.
From the experience of this friend and even mine, here is something to consider:
Ask for what you want. If you don’t get, it is wise to move on. But ask. Closed mouths (even if the most dedicated ones) hardly get fed.
I also do not think it is the corporates’ fault. Given a chance if they are getting someone to work with them without asking for the money they deserve, most corporates won’t give that money, barring a few.
So, the formuala goes is this:
Ask for money you deserve.
The right ones will love to feed you.
And there is no harm in asking for what you deserve.
Not everyone is your Mom who would understand your silence and mistake your 12 hours of daily dedication with 12 hours worth of pay. 😊
