Opportunities

My house help brought her 19 year old daughter with her too, today. (Ooh, I so feel so bad to see little girls taking over their parents like this.)

I am sitting on my bed with my laptop. I get off my table to allow my help to clean under the table.

Her daughter casually sits on the chair.

However, instead of sitting on the chair with its usual face outside, she faces the chair in front of me. Now I am being inspected with staring eyes.

I don’t blame her. She just doesn’t know better.

But as this 19 year old stares at me typing recklessly on my laptop, I could not be more grateful for my parents. How different my life would have turned out differently had I not gotten the education I got.

Yes there were and are differences between me and my parents. However, nothing could top the fact that they chose to educate me.

For that, I couldn’t be eternally grateful.

Education truly changes your life. A life sitting right across me validates exactly that.
