I am going through some random stories on my WhatsApp statuses, when I come across a friend’s friend’s status with some videos with his wife.
I am usually good at knowing the inside out of people from their faces and I am never wrong. Which is what made me think about this guy’s wife.
She is educated, smart and intelligent. But she also seems to be someone who dumbed down her dreams to take care of her family and loved ones. As a girl, I know where it comes from. The inherent need to look nice and to be loved more.
But you know what most girls don’t know? That there are times that when you stand for yourself, everyone will make their eyes bigger in surprise, but then they will turn those big eyes into cheers for you, even if it is in private.
So girl, if you dreamt only of a family to sacrifice yourself because you saw everyone else doing it, you can be different. Your daughters would need a role model, not a photocopied damsel in distress who won’t be saved by a prince, only herself.
