You have to let people experience things

It’s starting to drizzle as I get ready for my evening walk in the park.

Sitting in the balcony, my father carefully points outdoors, and then asks if I really want to go.

I say I need the park, even if I’ll go in the nearby one and come back in 15 minutes.

He relents.

As I get out and get going, it immediately starts raining heavily. He simply watches me from the balcony.

But I ride for 30 metres and make a u-turn home. The rain is unbearable.

I write this now as I am walking in the covered parking lot of our house.

Sometimes, when people experience things themselves, they realise what is worth it and what isn’t. A lesson which usually never comes by preaching.

Thank you, Papa, for being an observer as I learnt my lesson 😉
