Last week I visited the local Apple store to get a new charging cable.
While moving out, I casually stopped by at the new Macbooks in display. I currently use Macbook Air 2021 model that I got in December 2022, so simply tried looking at the new Macbook Airs. Mind you, my computer is working more than fine to date.
And as I used the computer in the store, or even tried picking it up, I did not feel any degree of happiness. I even felt sad for not feeling happier!
It is important to talk about it because our first Apple product has always given us indescribable happiness. Just that no other Apple products after that have ever been able to achieve that feat.
That said, should we stop consuming Apple products? I guess the answer is no. Never have I ever lived a pain-free-laptop life than I have lived this Macbook life. And when any of the Apple devices simply stops operating, like my last iPhone 8 which I gave up in early 2024, the next rational choice is to go for a newer version (usually latest minus one) of the Apple product.
Apple products are pro for their utility, design, time saving (from getting laptops repaired or Windows getting updated), great user interface, empathy for the user, the ease of using, and infinite benefits.
The only caveat is to not mistake any of them for happiness.
