I don’t know why I can’t focus!

Here is why you can’t focus, my friend:

  • You keep saying yes to everyone who asks you for anything. Call? Sure. Gossip on WhatsApp? Sure. Have a minute? Take 10.
  • You spend a lot of time deliberating “how to say no” if you have decided to say no to a request put by them, that you intuitively and externally know you have no interest in.
  • Responding to emails and WhatsApp messages the first thing in the morning is on the top of your agenda, even though the world won’t stop functioning if you just focused single handedly on your top task of the day, for the first two hours.
  • You attend to everyone else and then come to do your work, which only makes you wonder: Why I am unable to focus?

You are unable to focus my friend, because each time you nodded your head saying yes to requests you should not have even heard in the first place, a bit of your energy went out.
Little by little.
One cup at a time.

And by the time you get to yourself your head is stretched in multiple directions already, that is fit for anything but focus.

Say no often. A lot more than you do right now. You will say yes to yourself.
