What do you do when you receive a harsh email?

You have two options:

  1. Get defensive immediately. Craft a hoarse, ugly, word-by-word response sharing ONLY what you did right, and mindfully ignoring everything the other person did right.
Bonus: Hang around with your friends and tell them how big of a fool the other person is, and how you are like steel – stainless.

    OR
  2. Don’t react to the email immediately. Get back to it later. Accept and take responsibility for what you can fix. Kindly point out what you don’t agree with. And how you both can make things better.

Most people do the first. And gossip about people who do the second.

But it is the people who do second are the ones who truly feel in charge of their work, their days, and not surprisingly, their lives.

With great power, comes great responsibility, said Spiderman.

I’d like to add:

With great responsibility, comes impeccable inner power.
