Almost everyone is a content creator these days.
The natural question that comes is: “If everyone is creating, who is consuming?”
I’d say a better question to ask would be, “Who is the audience that I want to make sure consumes my content?”
Once you have done that, here are some cheat codes that would help you:
- Before you try to go viral on the internet, try having a life outside of it.
- The audience loves authenticity. So if you are sharing your “wins” because you saw someone else do that and succeed, you are lying to yourself.
- A good way of content creation is documentation. What you learnt. Share it with us.
- What is it that you are not going to do?
- If no friend, no one in your family, no one you know was watching you, what would you do? Do that.
- The need for likes is a scary thing. Guard yourself from it every day.
- Try creating a blog or a newsletter instead of doing 20-second Instagram reels or Tiktoks. Nothing wrong with the latter, just that the former would make you a deeper thinker.
- Your data has the answers.
- Follow a process. Monday 9 am. You sit down to create. Every Monday. Even if you don’t feel like doing it.
- Keep documenting the lessons.
- A lesson worth repeating: Don’t be SomeoneElse2.0. Be You 1.0.
