Well, this is what I believed for the first 13 years of reading books almost daily.
However, offlate I am reading a lot of fiction.
And it has given me some real important insights of life, such as:
- Our job is to feel safe ourselves and then make others feel safe as well.
- We need to talk. Not having conversations is the root cause of all our miseries in relationships, which invariably transforms into miseries in all other areas of our lives.
- Combine 1 and 2, and you realise that confrontation when done with the right tonality and the fact that you are not being abandoned, leads to breakthroughs.
Which is the reason more people should read fiction.
If you are confused where to start, books by Sarah Adams are always a good start. I also like some books by Tessa Bailey, all by Fredrik Backman, some by Dandy Smith, and Liz Tomforde is my new favourite. Overall, go get talking to real people by reading about people and conversations.
