Falling in love with the author

Once you read a bestseller by an author, you fall in love with them.

The kind of love that makes you reach out for other books of them too. And you do.

And then, the layers open up.

You realise they aren’t as perfect as their first book.

You realise their values don’t match yours.

And you also realise love is layered (even if it is with an author).

But it gives you a quiet sense of calm, because it is only after spending time with someone whom you thought was perfect, you realise they were not.

Human beings aren’t perfect. We are flawed. It brings you closer to them. Even if you are farther from them. Just like all one-sided relationships do šŸ™‚

Which also means that if you aren’t perfect today, some day you will go on to create a wonderful perfection. Perfection is achieved after a lot of imperfection.

And then, one day, someone would read your best work, then pick up all your older work, and love you even more. Because you weren’t perfect from the start. Perfection is a state you reach, it isn’t a state you are born with.
