- We outsource our thinking to ChatGPT.
- When we have to think and write an email, we resort to “quick call”.
- The “quick call” isn’t quick. And when it does get over, we are anyway unable to be focused again.
- Thinking is out of the box again. We go to ChatGPT again.
- We then read articles about how AI will take on the world and people won’t have jobs again.
- But people lose jobs all of the time. The ones who come out stronger are the ones who make the time to think.
- Thinking is something we had already outsourced.
Please know I am not anti-AI. I use ChatGPT a lot. But never for writing. Writing was supposed to make you think.
The goal of writing (whether an email or a text message) is not to be the best writer. It is to be the most thoughtful writer. It happens when you take the time to think why you are doing something.
It is equivalent to computers making our lives digital. We all love going on our vacations and crave for lesser screen time, because screen time also makes us question our worth. That was Web 2.0.
Web 3.0 won’t make us question our worth. It would make us question our existence. So, take that vacation now, even if no one is taking it. Transated: Make the time to think daily. To write by yourself. Even if it is just 100 words a day.
You will have far more time. And yes, far more command with ChatGPT and everything AI that you use.
