A secret to coming up with good thread ideas

  1. Sit on a computer and write multiple bad ideas.
  2. Do not get distracted by the internet.
  3. There is no way you do not get good ideas after an hour of sustained effort.

The best part? We have all been through this process, yet we expect a magic bullet to hit ourselves each time we don’t go through this. Isn’t it strange?

37 YouTube subscribers

Around 2015-16, I started posting on YouTube.
Because I wanted to be a motivational speaker.

But of course, I failed. For several reasons:

  1. No consistency
  2. No research into customers
  3. No understanding of tags
  4. No understanding of re-indexing
  5. Zero editing

Also, over time I wanted to devote myself to writing full-time. So I stopped posting there.

Was it a failure?
I have recently gotten into a contract with one of the top ten startups of India to create video course for them on Content Writing. All because of those video speaking skills.

This is not to boast anything about. I still believe it was pure luck.

However, there is something from Steve Jobs that comes forward to help us: You cannot connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backward.

Getting curious and doing the things without the intention of being famous or rich, just because you are inclined towards it is one of the biggest privileges of life.

And for YouTube, the subscriber base has finally grown. From 37, we have reached 41. LOL.
If you would love to extend your support, please follow me on Twitter as that is where I am planning to work more in 2021, YT is not on my list as of now. Thank you so much 🙂

Today I’ll document my day

It is said that when you make something public, there are far greater chances of you getting back on course with things that aren’t serving you.

So, here’s me trying to document my day.

Not sure if I could document everything, but here’s the good and the parts to be changed.

To be changed:

  1. Checked phone @5:30. Bad choice Nishtha. If you check your phone before 8AM, it will be an addiction throughout the day.
  2. Did not like the baingan ka bhartha that Mom made. So made myself a gud ki roti and an ajwain parantha with curd for lunch. Though it was yum, no veggies means no satisfaction, so look for veggies in lunch next time.
  3. Boss had asked for social media content for next week. I got better from last week, but not up to the mark. Need to work more on it.

Good things that happened:

  1. Was able to reach halfway through the wall-headstand in yoga.
  2. Attended the YouTube team call and the inherent feeling of inferiority complex was resolved, because I work with a fab boss who thrives on giving respect to all:)
  3. Submitted client’s content for next week and did something he hadn’t expected. Fingers crossed:)
  4. Walking to the meditation center daily. Because it’s cold and the movement will bring in some heat, and it’s damn cold to ride a two-wheeler in winters.
  5. Had a video call with my sis and nephew. Don’t know why, but that’s good anyway!
  6. Made matar paneer + rice for dinner. Hadn’t eaten a veggie since the morning bruh…
  7. Yesterday’s IG reel was loved more than expected. Looking forward to more love.

Hmm…that was fun. I should be doing more of these. Makes life accountable.

Alright then, see you tomorrow.

Till then, take great care peops!

Building a great brand

In a world where most of us are quarantined, being customer centric versus self centric is a wonderful opportunity brands can leverage.

For example, Zomato, the food delivery app, is still accepting orders. However all their online content is now focused on eating home-made food.

Air Asia, is the airline that has had zero lay-offs when all its revenue is built down to zero. The senior officials have foregone their salaries. A perfect example of running a family.

Similar is the case with Fittr, whose business also came down due to lockdown.

A brand is defined by what it does in difficult times. The hearts we touch is the blessings (and consequent revenue) we receive.

I’ll do this to be liked

Dressing up like someone else.

Talking like someone else.

Talking to be liked by someone else, even though you want to be silent.

Going to disco because everyone (other than you) feels it’s cool.

Posting that content which “they” will like.

The list is endless, my friend. However, your life does have an end. The sad news is, you don’t know when.

Then waiting doesn’t make sense, right?

How to have acute clarity

Clarity, is clearly one of the biggest jewels of life.

When you have clarity, you don’t give a damn about what others think, because you are well on your own path, and that’s what matters.

However, what do you do when you don’t know what’s there in your path?

More that that, how do you have that confidence to march there freely?

Here’s a way I could help you out.
