To make the bygone, happier

Almost everyone of us was shocked on the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput.

People blamed nepotism, crushing of his dreams and existence of politics for that.

The time kept on going. And then came the day for his last movie being premiered on air. We were ready with tissue papers, popcorns, and tonnes of empathy for him.

We all cried with him.

Now what’s next? In a few days or weeks, our life will start going as it was. In fact, it already has.

Here’s the biggest truth: Sushant won’t be happy on you just watching his last movie.

If we cried and loved him and missed him, it won’t make him happy.

Rather if we just stopped and did something like:

  • texting a loved one for no reason
  • calling someone whom we haven’t spoken to, in a long time
  • let our loved ones know we love them

Sushant would be much much happier, wherever he is, whatever he is doing.

You are terrified at his death. The entire nation is. However, none of us, not a single one of us know what others are going through – not even our family and friends.

If we could show them that we are there for them, no matter what, they’ll feel connected to a part of them that most of us have lost.

‘And perhaps, they come to life again! Maybe Sushant will also!

A bad day.

Set myself some goals for today.

Work goals, reading goals, phone-call goals, meditation goals.

Accomplished none of them fully. How much did I actually accomplish, doesn’t make sense because incompleteness is incompleteness.

Also I used social media for 1 hour! It was a big big wastage of time in the morning immediately after breakfast.

Lesson learnt: Own your morning ritual and the day falls into place.

Lesson I still need to learn: You get to decide. You control your day. If you focus, it’s possible in 25% of the time.

Lesson I must learn: No one loves you basis social media comments and likes. Sharing content is good just because you want to. Opening multiple tabs is equivalent to eating food without washing your hands – unwanted invitation.

PS: I am strong, healthy and with my family. Life is fab. Utterly grateful. Will just raise it higher tomorrow:)

One of the messages for my life

This one comes out as a small request.

To all those who smoke,

You’re not bad, however when when you get back indoors post a smoke, please please please do something to make sure that odour of smoking is not being radiated from you.

It makes the non-smokers feel suffocated and have an instant severe headache in some cases.

You may consider this as a small request from a family member who does not smoke and needs that level of space.

Thank you, and saying again, this is not to label anyone as “bad” (notwithstanding the fact that smoking KILLS), this is just a little request to make another little difference.

Badminton, not so good

When I had just entered tenth standard, I also exited something superimportant: playing badminton on the street with my neighbourhood friends.

Of course, it was justified back then. Board exams were coming up, I needed to focus on what was important. Playing wasn’t. (I don’t believe it now, back then I did.)

In a consequent events of getting plumper from 11th standard till first year of college, I finally started taking health and fitness seriously from second year onwards, and also achieved wonderful results post that.

Fast forward to yesterday, I was playing badminton with a bunch of friends, who otherwise, play the game daily.

And boy o boy, what a sad demise the team had which I was a part of.

I was leaner than them, had a stronger body with a lower fat percentage than them, can do a headstand and also do a plank effortlessly; over and above the strength from training in the gym.

Yet, here I was, flunked beautifully in the sport that had been a part of almost entire childhood of mine.

What I learnt from last night’s sport was this:

1. No matter what you can do, when someone else practices more, they become an expert at it. The same applies to business and life. Working more, creating more, and failing more, will lead to greater changes of success. Invariably.

2. Your future is designed by what you do in the present, not what you did in the past. This applies to all those who didn’t have a beautiful past, and also to those who had great habits in the past and now have left them.

Today is the past that will be created in the future. Take care of it, and if you want to experience some fun, make time for your metaphoric badminton.
