Looking at sunshine.

Looking at moonlight.

The light that you are looking for, is the light that is within.

The question is, do the clouds of the life that hold you back hamper your light, or your sunshine shines irrespective of anything else in the world?

Are you also feeling lost?

There are different ways and functions of feeling lost.

You could be doing well financially.
You could be doing well in your relationships.

But, the relationship that you have with yourself, that one is a dangerous one.

That is what leads us to feeling lost.

There are differing ways to solve the problem. Start like this: Where is one hour where you could take control of your life?

Start with one hour in twenty four. Small part is chew-able, doable, and relatable.
It will make you more confident, powerful, and one day at a time – less lost. Isn’t that what we all are looking for?

Lessons of life – 30 Oct 2020

1. Trust others. As much as you trust yourself. Even more.

2. Stop proving yourself. Everyone has a perspective filter.

3. Goodness is questioned. Still be good.

4. It will get better. Remember, trust yourself?

5. If no one is misunderstanding you, you aren’t breaking much ceilings.

Happy this Dushehra?

As a kid, we used to go to my Naani’s home to witness Ravan being slayed.

Over a period of time as we grew up, Nana passed away and Naani got older, the tradition stopped.

This time, when there is no Dushehra mela, it reminds of something deeper: that some day there will be nothing more.

And it won’t be sad. It would rather be a reminder of how much inner evils we need to uproot. Because if we have uprooted all of them, we’d be happy by default.

Question?

Either you do something good or bad, there will be people questioning you.

Just make sure you don’t question yourself.

That doesn’t mean not making the mistakes, it rather means not owning your life.

Own your life.

Don’t question yourself at the end of it that why you gave up.

That little tinge of kindness

August 2017.
It was a usual day at work.
I went to the Operations Head, asking to share the records and documents needed for my work.

Back then, I used to work as an Internal Auditor, and the core job was visiting branches and conducting audits, with the help of branch operations team.

This fine day, as I was going back to my desk after talking with the Operations Head, when she called my name and said, “You always look stunning!”

And it took a moment for my mask of “follow me I am the auditor” to more of a humble, kinder human.

That of course, didn’t affect my work, however, it did tell me that it’s super important to appreciate people for their little things.

As my bosses used to say: “Neither of you are against each other, you both are working for the bank.”

PS: If you do not want AI to replace you, learn from this girl who showed the human side of her.

PPS: No, it didn’t affect my report however it did affect how I reflect on life.

And that’s super important 🙂

One art that makes all the difference

If there is one skill to learn forever, it is the skill to say “no”.

No to the colleague who makes fun of our values.
No to the activities that you don’t want to sign up for.
No to the client that anyway doesn’t respect your material.

However, the people that say the most “no’s” are the people that say a lot of “yes” to the right things. And if we have not mastered the art of saying no to others, we are ultimately saying “no” to ourselves. Is that the life you want to live?

What is the cost of your dreams?

What is the cost of your dreams?

Everything.

You will be misunderstood. You will be ridiculed. You will be criticised.

All of this will happen at the times you need the most support.
All of this will happen when you least expect it.
All this will happen when you need a clean mind to execute on your dreams.

Despite this, please continue!

Despite this, please move ahead!

Because if you don’t, those people have already won. And you know what, those people are not intending anything bad against you, they just don’t know better.

And if you’ll follow them, won’t that be the same treatment to yourself?

The goal of all problems is just one:
To get you closer to your goals and your Best Self.

Use your problems to get better. And show the world yourself about how strong you are.

Best life advice (no one will ever give you)

When you’re not listening to your heart, things will fall apart.

When you do things that you don’t want to, things will still fall apart.

When you sell your soul, there would be nothing left.

Living life on your terms is difficult – this is the thought process fit into our brain.

However, when you live life on the terms of the society by killing yourself daily, you are already dead.

The best life advice ever is: Life life on your own terms. Everything else will just fall for you. (Try falling for yourself, baby! )

Life lessons – 18 Aug 2020

1. Maturity in life is accepting that someone in family that was closest to you dome day, isn’t close anymore.

2. When you don’t check an email / notification immediately because it isn’t important, you become more powerful. (PS: 95% aren’t important.)

3. Speak your truth even when your voice shakes. The only person going to be with you from start of life to end is you, and if you don’t speak your truth, do you really want to live with a liar all your life?

4. Parkinson’s Law is as real as gravity.

5. Focus. Focus. Focus is the ultimate asset.

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni announced his retirement today.

The sad pic of that semi-final match in WC 2019.

Sad we live in a society that makes a gem retire because he couldn’t get us to the Finals of the World Cup.

PS: How could we forget it was a team of 11 players on the field?

How could we forget we trusted him so much that we depended only on him?

I have never been a cricket fan. Never watch matches.

However, the next time someone doesn’t get the score you think they should get, don’t treat them like as a society we treated Dhoni.

You will be loved forever MS! For all the things you didn’t say 💖

It didn’t work out

If it didn’t work out, something better is along the way.

If it did, you can create it even more epic.

Life isn’t about hits and misses. Life is about the hit you’ve made by being alive. You have a fiduciary responsibility to be the best of who you can be. If you don’t want to be in the life you don’t like, move. Stop wasting time on what didn’t work.

Life lessons from today

1. Taking notes while reading is an excellent way to grasp (and re-read) important information.

2. Don’t worry about the next 8 years, think about the next 8 days and executing super hard on them.

3. “Don’t charge for how much time it takes you. Charge for the value you provide.” – Ankur Warikoo

4. Hanging around with the right people is priceless. Even if you’re paid less, figuring out how to earn money from other sources would be easier.

5. What you think about, you being about. Never the other way round.

6. Spending less time on Twitter and Instagram is a phenomenal saving of your time. Time = money. Period.

7. Feeling sad is a habit more than circumstances. So is feeling happy no matter what.

Some random life truths

1. Checking your email just three times a day is a sign of maturity.

2. You are loved. Let no social media tell you otherwise.

3. You may forgive people yet not allow them into your life ever again.

4. You don’t need love. You ARE love. Now go, give. Starting with yourself.

5. The best thing you could do to yourself is be You. Everyone else is already taken, as Oscar Wilde said.

To make the bygone, happier

Almost everyone of us was shocked on the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput.

People blamed nepotism, crushing of his dreams and existence of politics for that.

The time kept on going. And then came the day for his last movie being premiered on air. We were ready with tissue papers, popcorns, and tonnes of empathy for him.

We all cried with him.

Now what’s next? In a few days or weeks, our life will start going as it was. In fact, it already has.

Here’s the biggest truth: Sushant won’t be happy on you just watching his last movie.

If we cried and loved him and missed him, it won’t make him happy.

Rather if we just stopped and did something like:

  • texting a loved one for no reason
  • calling someone whom we haven’t spoken to, in a long time
  • let our loved ones know we love them

Sushant would be much much happier, wherever he is, whatever he is doing.

You are terrified at his death. The entire nation is. However, none of us, not a single one of us know what others are going through – not even our family and friends.

If we could show them that we are there for them, no matter what, they’ll feel connected to a part of them that most of us have lost.

‘And perhaps, they come to life again! Maybe Sushant will also!

What’s your weight?

This lockdown came along with gyms locked down.

Till March, I had reached a great weight resistance. Then began the workout at home.

Today I brought in weights from my old home, and lo, the resistance which I could carry initially wasn’t there. The reason, obviously, was lack of practice with weights.

In life, the more we continue to live with goodness, the more resilience we develop against what’s isn’t right – without losing on who we are.

If we remain where we are without increasing that quota of goodness, over time, we’ll lose it.

Over time, we will lose ourselves.

Lessons from today

1. The only way to feeling good is listening and reading inspirational stuff. This may sound boring, however once you start, it ain’t leaving you.

2. But that exposure to stuff won’t change your life. Your life will be changed when you move out of the noise and reflect on what all you learnt. When you become your own teacher and give yourself some homework, that’s when life changes.

3. Your old habits are waiting at your doorstep if you’re not strict with enforcing your newer, better habits.

4. Where there is true love, you accept people as they are.

5. If you want to change something with them, it’s perhaps because they’re reflecting your insecurities and incompleteness.

That’s it for today, folks! See you tomorrow 😌.
