What’s your weight?

This lockdown came along with gyms locked down.

Till March, I had reached a great weight resistance. Then began the workout at home.

Today I brought in weights from my old home, and lo, the resistance which I could carry initially wasn’t there. The reason, obviously, was lack of practice with weights.

In life, the more we continue to live with goodness, the more resilience we develop against what’s isn’t right – without losing on who we are.

If we remain where we are without increasing that quota of goodness, over time, we’ll lose it.

Over time, we will lose ourselves.

Lessons from today

1. The only way to feeling good is listening and reading inspirational stuff. This may sound boring, however once you start, it ain’t leaving you.

2. But that exposure to stuff won’t change your life. Your life will be changed when you move out of the noise and reflect on what all you learnt. When you become your own teacher and give yourself some homework, that’s when life changes.

3. Your old habits are waiting at your doorstep if you’re not strict with enforcing your newer, better habits.

4. Where there is true love, you accept people as they are.

5. If you want to change something with them, it’s perhaps because they’re reflecting your insecurities and incompleteness.

When did it actually happen?

When did it actually happen?

When did I move from giving love to needing it?

When did I move from giving tonnes of acceptance to needing it?

When did I move from cheerful, super happy and full of charm kid to crying whole day?

Never have I ever waited like this. Waiting for this time to go away. Don’t know when. I have written positivity and power for eternity. Then why so much truth? Why am I documenting my rock bottom? Why?

I have no idea. Other than the fact that I want it all out of my system.

And also one more reason: The ones suffering from mental health problems are already strong. They have to muster the strength to get back up. So don’t think they need any help. They spread awareness on it so that more people could become empathetic towards each other and more cases of depression stop from coming. That is the only reason.

The best way to feel light

One, is of course, losing the weight – emotional and physical.

Two, is to remember you are the light.

Three, quite relevant, is to politely decline. Nothing, absolutely nothing would give you as much energy as not doing what you know you shouldn’t be doing.

Do you also feel hurt?

Do you feel hurt by people?

You did good to them however they didn’t respond?

What if they didn’t hurt you?

What if they hurt your idea of how you should be treated?

No one, absolutely no one owes you anything. If they’re good, you’re lucky. If they aren’t good, you get stronger.

Is your education worth it?

Back in my school days, rather for the entire time of my formal education, I was a top scoring student.

  • How many of real world skills are dependent on the numbers you got?
  • Yes, your marks gave you a kick-start at the beginning of your career, however, did they decide your entire future? Never.
  • We all have countless examples of back-benchers who went out to do amazing things in life, then why do we still place so much importance on formal education?

How to find that balance

Today I was supposed to meet some deadlines.

Then my niece came over, and she came specially to play with me.

So I had two choices – to scold her to come uninformed, or to play with her.

I did the latter.

Because you know what?

I have always stood by doing great work. So now I had a great bandwidth to delay.

It’s all about finding that balance. Do epic work to such a large extent, that when you don’t, it doesn’t make any difference:

About being undefeated

When you know who you are, you will always be undefeated.

When you know each of your thoughts have a spiral effect, you will always be undefeated.

When you know everything you want is waiting for you, you just need to be the recipient to receive it, you shall be undefeated.

We create a heaven and a hell in ourselves. Not because of what we do, rather because of what we allow ourselves to think about.

Think about.

Helping and Asking for help

Part I: Giving Help

If you want to help someone else, make sure you’ve helped yourself.

If you think you are still doing them a favour, you are not.

People love to know they’re loved, only if they could feel you loving yourself.

Part II: Asking for Help

If you are asking for someone else’s help out of their obligation to do it for you and out of their inability to not do it willingly, probably you need to rethink your choices.

Conclusion:

The only way to have everything aligned on the outside is to align yourself from within. Nothing changes before that.

The easiest way to change your life

If you look at your day, you’ll find several things to make the radical shift.

And to look at all of them might sound demeaning.

So here’s the way to change your life:

Change just one thing in your day that causes you most pain.

Just one. Not three. Not five. Just one.

Maybe you check your phone just for ten minutes in the morning and it may get your schedule haywire.

Maybe you have your dinner quite late.

Maybe you get distracted easily in your environment.

What is it that causes you the most pain?

Tackling just one thing will lead to domino effect of life altering habits.

Decide now.

Too serious?

Is it okay to take yourself seriously?

Or should you be happy and easy-going?

The answer is: you should take yourself seriously and be easy going in the process.

Take your mindset seriously, and be easy going towards the first time mistakes (second timers are the ones you didn’t learn from).

Take your efforts seriously, and easy going towards someone else’s.

You always know when is it the time to be disciplined and when to chill. You just need to decide – which will come from practising serious discipline as well as easy going discipline.

The light

The light is always there.

Beyond the clouds when the flight takes off.

After the dawn.

Inside a book.

Everywhere there is the light.

We just need to let it know that it is important. It is needed. It is powerful.

Let’s shout out loud

Shouting out loud works.

And then it says the trust of the person shouted at.

Our goal is to go far, together. Not fast and lonely.

Letting your life and lifestyle make its imprint, instead of shouting to get things done – is a great thing to begin with. That never made ends.

One of the messages for my life

This one comes out as a small request.

To all those who smoke,

You’re not bad, however when when you get back indoors post a smoke, please please please do something to make sure that odour of smoking is not being radiated from you.

It makes the non-smokers feel suffocated and have an instant severe headache in some cases.

You may consider this as a small request from a family member who does not smoke and needs that level of space.

Thank you, and saying again, this is not to label anyone as “bad” (notwithstanding the fact that smoking KILLS), this is just a little request to make another little difference.

The “after” feeling

If you think it’s easy for pro’s to get up and do the workout daily, you’re wrong.

No one, absolutely no one wants to go through the grind.

They still go through it, because the feeling that comes after the hard work, is unmatchable.

Don’t go with what you are going through. Go with what you want to go through.

Focus on power of future versus what pain it brings in the present.

The One Thing ☝🏻

You want to change your lifestyle.

Maybe you’re not getting the results you wanted.

Things aren’t working out as you wished.

Do nothing, other than change one thing.

What is that one thing?

Well that you know exactly in your heart.

You just need to decide to change “that one thing” and witness changes happen in all areas of your life.

Pay ₹24K per annum and be flawless

At a place where I stay, there are an array of salons.

Was about to walk into my usual salon, when all of a sudden my tired mind made a decision in a whim and I stepped into another salon.

As I stepped in there, something immediately did not feel right.

In the ten minutes their executive did my eyebrows, the owner of this small salon sat next to me and tried to sell me bigger (and more expensive) services.

I was somehow being convinced to believe how many flaws I had and somehow they would magically disappear if I took their services every month.

Give them the sale to become flawless. Such a hook, hook, hook (zero jab).

Here’s the part I pitied them the most: Their services were awesome.

The 5 second massage that their executive did on my eyebrows post threading them, was more than relieving. Yet, decided not to go back to them again because they didn’t care about the relationship. I was (not so) subtly given the sign that money is all they care for.

Despite having a great product / service, they lose a client who would have probably given them bigger business.

Care not about the money, care about the relationship and money shall follow.
